This is Mitch, nickname Batboy. One of my student mentors. He walked in
this afternoon and told me in a hoarse whisper that sometime in the last
forty minutes, he had lost his voice. He sounded terrible. I was trying
REALLY hard to be compassionate, but all I could do was look at his t-shirt
(a student government election ad) and try to stifle my giggles. Luckily he
thought it was funny, too, once I pointed it out to him. Maybe not as funny
as -I- thought it was, but he had to admit it was kind of ironic.
