It's been quite a journey with PS so far, and it will happily continue.....

I got back today to the town where I spent my first 10 years as a teacher, adult, and bachelor after college for work. I had heard that this motel had a fire, but I had no idea how bad it was - pretty much a total loss.

I had spent a LOT of time here since this is where a fellow teacher and part time girlfriend back in the day lived for a year in this town. Strange to come back and see this...

Can't see it, but there has been a rail road spur that came into our town that has been out of use for a LONG time. Came this way today, and there were at least 30 different devices(? vehicles? cars?) along here working it over...

Maybe Amtrak is coming to town???

Ran into this friendly guy (gal?) arriving in Kanab this morning for work.
So calm, but ready for an adventure!

We celebrate birthday months in my family - thankfully for me! My Pop came
to visit this weekend to contribute to the celebrations since Jean and I
ran away to Vegas last weekend. I finally got my made-from-scratch red
velvet cake with scratch made cream cheese frosting and oreo crumbles. Very
tasty!

Big thanks to my sweet wife Jean - she worked very hard on the cake, and
almost cut her finger off karate chopping our light fixture over the sink
(not on purpose...). Thanks love!

Another day neglecting to take a photo until my return home at sunset...

Day 5/5 of my long birthday weekend. Today we spent time in St. George at
the Parade of Homes. The best part was that I FINALLY GOT MY JETTA BACK
TODAY!

58 days after my run-in with the semi truck, my car is all fixed up. Great
to have it back. :D

We came home today from our Vegas fun and tried to tell Chaco ALL about it.
He was not impressed.....

Jean stole my photo for today as well... ;) Today was my birthday, and we
had a great day in Vegas. The topper was a fun little concert by Taylor
Hicks (American Idol winner). He put on a great show, and we were able to
meet him and get his autograph at the end.

My photo is an action shot. He was quite a performer.

Jean stole my photo today of our participation of a new world hugging
record, so I'll just show her chilling in Vegas today. :D

Had a great day today, and topped it off with a great dinner at Gordon
Ramsay BurGR in Vegas tonight - best burger, onion rings and fries I've
ever had. Period.

Love this photo...

This greeted me when I came home for the start of my long-awaited 5-day
Birth-A-Valentine Weekend! Best way to start a long weekend ever... Gosh!

Made a trip to SG with Jean tonight. On our way home, we saw these funky clouds - they look like space ship to me!

Jean's car had a bit of a problem on Friday... Nothing happened at all when
she turned the key. In fact, you could not even move the gear lever so the tow truck had to drag it up into the truck bed. This may be the first time in a long time I was thankful to have snow so that I could put it under the skidding tires so that we didn't have black streaks on the driveway or flat
spots on the tires.

Thankfully, it was not a big deal. The alarm system had too small of a fuse in it which blew. $45 later and it's good as new!

It's a long story, but my uncle has moved from Minneapolis back closer to us to Mesquite, NV - about 1.5 hours away. He needed some help with some large items, so I headed down and spent a few hours helping. This was the biggest thing he needed help with - a 60" plasma TV mounted to the wall!

It's going to be great to have him nearby again.
