I was dressed up all nice with a shirt, tie, and dress pants but it was really starting to snow and I had to walk to class do I thought it'd be best to put on my boots as I left the house following lunch. Yes, my boots are brown and I'm wearing a mostly black outfit.

The moment after taking this photo I received a text from my boss telling me to stay home because everyone was being sent home early. :-)

The WI cabin that the Scouts and I were staying in had a lighted sled hill, a location the scouts spent hours enjoying. For the record, I may have went down a handful of times myself.

I made homemade burgers for dinner tonight but sadly they didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. This photo turned out amazing I feel however because you can even see the steam rising off the patties.

Garbage day is normally bright and early Friday mornings but when I came home Saturday I saw this when I went to take out some trash. I feel this is a legitimate public health and safety concern that needs to be addressed.

Every Friday night (for a number of years) a group of friends would always meet up at our favorite restaurant and hang out for a few hours. Immediately after hearing of the shooting at NIU five years ago, I organized a get together at one of our favorite hang outs in one of my best friend's memory. Five years later to the day, we continue to meet up in her memory.

For the last five years, every Valentines Day I've traveled to NIU to take part in a memorial ceremony marking the anniversary of the campus shooting.
While not the best photo, this photo shows the memorial, the memorial garden, and a large number of the people that came to take part in the ceremony.

Our building is about to be sold but the owners don't want broken glass to
show up on the appraiser's report so the building manager "fixed it." He
says the new owners plan to rip down the porch and it really don't matter.
Can anyone spot what the "fix" was?

unforseen problem with my undergraduate fraternity, I spent awhile on the
phone trying to advise them on the issue.

The blight of my weekend was a project for my Economics course during which we were tasked with solving a large deficit problem for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and preparing a brief completely outlining possible options. I spent all day Saturday working on the project come bedtime, I felt like there was one little puzzle piece preventing me from
getting anywhere. Enter Sunday, a study group (pictured) agreed to meet to iron out the issues we were all surely having and we made a major dent in the project. The project still was not completed by midnight; I have until Tuesday to finish some additional math to prove my theories, and preparing the actual brief.

My favorite band came back after a three year hiatus and planned to come to Chicago. When they announced the return on Monday they played a show that night in Chicago since it is their home town and sadly it sold out in less than a minute. Missing the first show, I really wanted to attend the second and used three devices to get a pair of tickets but alas, the tickets
escaped me again. :-(
