Finally made it to Walter Reed to see my cousin! Got to spend some time with him and the rest of the family that has assembled out here. Also managed to stop and see my grandparents and great-grandma who were on their way home as we were driving to Maryland.
This is the statue in the lobby of the building he is in.

How is your cousin doing?
He's improving. He talked to us the morning we left. They put a trach cover on and he was able to say a few things. He also typed on his iPad to answer some questions as well. I try to keep the group updated on our Facebook page :)
