Had students write down anonymous questions they have right now--to be
answered and discussed in small groups on Friday with their peer mentors.
This was one of them. Now. On Monday, I spent an extensive amount of
time explaining why students are required to take my class, what difference
it makes, why it's important, etc. Today, I spent an extensive amount of
time explaining the answer to the first question here--the difference
between my class and one of the other required classes at the university.
Are you kidding me? I spend that time, and then 20 minutes later you
write down the SAME question?? Definitely not an isolated incident,
either. Makes me stabby when students don't pay attention (or ask
questions when they're confused!)

Are these new students. BTW, I love the phrase "stabby". I have to remember that.
