It's not a bad thing. It just means that I may earn a few pennies every now and again through Amazon referral links on my websites. Earlier this year, Amazon cancelled all of the referral-program memberships for people in California due to a new Internet sales tax passed by the state. But the state has since changed its mind (at least for a few years) on the tax, so my referral account is active again.
