Another Cheat (I know I'm terrible!!!), This is the beginnings of something
magical my family calls Klub (pronounced Cloob? like boob with a *KL sound).
It's a very dense potato dumpling served covered in salt and melted butter.
It's a family tradition for Christmas Eve dinner. I remember waiting ALL DAY
while my grandma and grandpa were in the kitchen cooking up.

When my Grandpa got sick me and my brother learned the recipe and took over
the cooking. It's been two Christmas's since my Grandpa passed, and the
tradition continues.

Is it a family recipe or something that your family made up?

the recipe itself is a family recipe, but it's a classic German dish. Some people in the family have been to Germany and said it's not at all the same (taste and texture wise)
