Making breakfast for dinner tonight and decided to try adding the bacon to
the pancakes. I will SO make more of these next time. Heaven in your mouth
when the sweet from the cakes and syrup mix with the salt of the
bacon...... MMmmmmm so very very good!

Especially if you have real maple syrup.

I bet it would have been out of this world if I had real maple syrup! These are homemade from scratch pancakes and real thick cut bacon.....sadly with store brand syrup :(

do you cook the bacon a bit first?
and is maple syrup hard to get down there?

Yes, cook the bacon first. Maple syrup is easy to get just more expensive than the store brand crap. Normally I just make a fruit syrup while making the pancakes but I figured with the bacon experiment I would need to use the maple syrup.
