Cheat. While I was out mowing and weed eating, my sweet wife Jean was inside making us tasty healthy salads for lunch. When she opened up a new bag of Romaine and cut off the stump, she found these strange long fibers going up the vein of almost each leaf. I’ve never seen anything like this - have any of you?Thankfully, this photo was good enough to return the item - I had to run to the store today for work, and I just showed it to the customer service person at the front. She had no idea either, and sent me along with a new bag. Hopefully we won’t see the same thing in the new one! Strange…..

Strange indeed. I've never seen such a thing.
Seeing the photo still creeps me out. Was so weird. I didn't die from the one head of lettuce like that I took a few leaves from... at least not yet...
