So the project that was in my home made drying chamber (day 122) was a new
shade for my lamp. I have to add a trim around the top but I really like how
it turned out. The glass that originally went with this light broke before
we ever had a chance to use it :(. So I covered the glass with plastic wrap
and covered it with yarn and glue. In the end this was what I got out of it.
Whats great is if it gets damaged or I change the room colors I can always
make another shade :D Score

I swear, that is the coolest thing! I wish one of my lamps would break so i could try it. :)

LMAO i don't really think this is a craft that would require your lamp to be broken. Do it and store the lamp shade part somewhere safe until you want to use it again or sell it!!

I am thinking of making place mats with the same yarn so it all goes together perfectly!! Just don't know if I really want or have that time to knit 4 place mats

I LOVE it. Wish I were that crafty!!

kirsten, don't knit the placemats, make them the same way as the lampshade! double up or use a thicker yarn.

That would be a great idea Chelle!!! I might just have to do that BUT do one layer and throw it through a laminator maybe? The yarn isn't very thick.
