Who's ready for year 4?!

Those new to 365 photo blogs. The objective of this blog is to take a photo, every day, for 1 year. Add a caption to help us followers understand your photo. Other members and followers comment on your photos. When you are down you get support that brings you back up. When you have good news you have friends here to celebrate with. Friendships have been made here and its another place you can call home. It is also very fun to look back on your year(s) and see how far you have come, what changed and what stayed the same.

I can't believe yet another year is coming to an end on Photographic State. Let alone the 3rd year! I'm hoping this next year can be even bigger and better! My steamer hasn't been holding the steam in lately making it pointless to
use. Tonight I took the sucker apart (figured what have I to lose) and
tightened and moved things around and BAM its working again. :D So happy!

Made up a Chicken and Kale casserole tonight. It was good but should have
halved the shells and kept everything else the same amount. I'm on the
fence if I should add it to the blog or not....

A total american spin on Mexican food. Ameraquitos for dinner tonight.
Taquitos with flour tortillas (not corn) and baked (not fried). I made up
some flour tortillas and some salsa to go with them and mexican "rice".

Went out to brunch with a few friends, Eddie, and my little brother (the one pictured). He got all-you-can-eat broasted chicken… Three plates and a coupon later, we paid $4.50 for him (including the drink). It was a pretty sweet deal.

Waiting room at the psychiatrist's office today. I love their little
system--if you look at the wall next to the reception desk, you'll see a
bunch of light switches. When I arrive, I just flip his switch, and it
alerts him I'm there. Don't have to interact with anyone. :D As a side
note, my appointment went really, really well. I'm really lucky to have
found someone who gets me so well, knows what he's doing, and is really
committed to helping me. As usual after seeing him, I feel confident
moving forward.

My first pair of sock monkey slippers, which I've had for about a year. My
toe went through the end of one over Christmas, and I thought they were
done for. My awesome Mom, though, hung on to them and fixed the toe for
me. I taped up the bottoms to keep them going for awhile... Definitely
excited that they've been resurrected. :)

For Christmas this year, Clint got me a Fitbit--it's this amazing pedometer
that does all kinds of crazy cool stuff and then tracks everything online
electronically. It was my second, since I lost the first one about a year
ago. I was SO excited to have a replacement and had figured out a way to
keep from losing this one. After my workout today, I did a load of
laundry... And all of a sudden realized I wasn't wearing it anymore. I
ran to the bedroom to look for it, and it was nowhere to be found. Yep. I
washed it. Stopped the wash load half-way through and pulled it out. I
THINK it's going to be fine, but I have it in a bowl of rice to try to dry
it out anyway. Keep your fingers crossed.

This weekend I got my broccoli starters going, according to
sproutrobot.com/ . This site is pretty cool. I hope that it is
correct on when I should be planting things. It also tells you when you
should transfer them to your garden and when they should be ripe for the

OMG it was yummy. Sloppy joes, with a noodle salad and roasted parmesan
broccoli. Oh and my buns were so light and fluffy... beyond PERFECT! I hope

So I saw Tyler had put the bag of Cat food outside. I brought it in because
I didn't want it to fill with ants. To late. So I had to sort through all
the food to get the ants OUT. About half way through I remembered how we
solved this problem at the pet store I worked at.... throw it in the
freezer. DAMN IT. Why don't I ever think of these things before I start??

Still advising the sorority, and tonight was another sisterhood get
together I had to be at. There's an event on Saturday with a campus

My law school buddy and I hit the jackpot as far as writing teachers goes this semester. He's rather quirky, and he wraps up (seriously… in tissue or wrapping paper with tape)) things he finds in his home or at the store to give to us when we answer questions during class. This is what I received today. I ran into one of the guys I know here on the elevator and I apparently made his day by giving him "a gift for simply using the elevator."

The LoveSac has made its way back into the living room--usually does this
time of year in prep for the Super Bowl. I've posted photos of the dogs
laying in it before, so some of you may be familiar with it. Basically
just a giant bean bag kind of thing, except it's stuffed with this memory
foam kinda stuff. Way comfortable, and this behemoth started as a brick
that could, while super heavy, be easily picked up and carried by one
person. You tear the foam apart, fluff it up, etc. for awhile (hours,
let's be honest), and it ends up like this. Normally it's all squished
down from people sitting in it, so I wanted a shot of what it looks like
totally fluffed and untouched. :D

While cleaning up the kids play room I saw the tent and remembered you
asked about it. Go figure when I went to grab my camera the cats found
what I was "playing" with. :) The tent is part of a camping set. I could
only find one of the dolls but there are three animals, two sleeping bags,
one raft and two floaty thingies. Its a whole kit from....Doug and Melissa
play sets. Its pretty cute. Grace uses it more then the kids do though!

so i did groceries at wal-mart today, since the closest one to me has just
converted to grocery and i had to pick up some stuff there anyways,

i bought a red pepper.

is it a real red pepper? i'm not sure. it's bright, red in colour, and nice
and firm. the peppers at safeway and co op are usually not this firm. it's
kind of freaking me out.

Little known secret about me: I love to do jigsaw puzzles. I have since I
was a kid. I don't tell many people because I think they'll think its
strange (I don't have any baggage or anything, do I? Oi.) I find
something very soothing about it... one of the few things I can totally
concentrate on for long stretches of time without even remotely getting
distracted. Clint got me this one for Christmas--1000 pieces, and way fun
to put together.

Drunk Pork Chops for dinner tonight. SO GOOD! Cajun seasoning, 8 oz of
beer, 1/3 cup ketchup, 1/2 brown sugar, and 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce.
Heat some oil in a pan, sprinkle a little Cajun seasoning (more if you like
spicy!) over pork, brown both sides of the pork. Mix other ingredients
together add to the pan the pork is browned in and cook on a simmer for 20
depending on how thick your pork is. cook until 145 degrees (HIGHLY
recommend getting a digital thermometer for checking meats! It makes a word
of a difference.) Super easy and quick!

Meet my brother Matt. He is working on my truck which I am once again having problems with. On Thursday morning it was -11 degrees my truck initially started but was idling at very low RPM's. My dumbass went ahead and started driving thinking "oh it's just cold" " it'll warm up and be fine" well after I backed out of my parking spot the fucking thing died! It turned into a big ordeal two hours of missed work and a trip to my brother house to give it a tube up. Well after the tune up it now runs like shit. One or more of the spark plugs and or wires is bad or not connected properly. :(

I did some really, really hard work today during my weekly therapy session.
Faced up to some ugly stuff. This is a bracelet I wear every day--it
says, "I am strong if you are strong." I have one, and KT (who used to
post photos here, and also my bestest friend) has one too. It reminds me
every day that if she is strong (which she is--amazingly so), I can be
strong too. I looked at it, played with it, etc. today while talking about
some super hard stuff. I'm glad to always have her with me in spirit.

I've been stressing myself out lately. I have never been good at sticking with goals or completely things I start. I have notebooks upon notebooks of incomplete poems/songs. This is another example, this is me smoking at work!
I made it through one week without smoking a single cigarette at work then I smoked once the next week, twice the week after that. Ive come to the conclusion that it is more important to focus on school then to stress out about other goals. If I am successful at one thing this year I want it, no I NEED it to be school, so that is where my focus will be.
