Here in Utah, we get what is called a 'Temperature Inversion' weather
situation in the winters. I'm sure it happens in other places, but it sure
is an annoyance here. It's not at all as bad where we live as it is in Salt
Lake or other towns in the North, but we do feel it here.

High pressure overhead forces all of the pollution and crappy air to hang
in the valley's, the ground does not heat up, and it's colder in the
valleys than it is at about 10,000 feet in the mountains.

I took my Pop for a little ride today up to this overlook, where you can
see Zion National Park in the distance. It was 12 degrees in Cedar when we
left, and it was 30 degrees at this overlook. Crazy, but it sure was a nice
day (up here at least).
