I feel bad for starting off this round with a cheat, but it was raining too
hard this morning to take a new pic. This one was taken a few summers ago.
My poor house. Neal bought it before we were married. He didn't have a will.
The house & mortgage are in his name. The mortgage is ~$50K upside down.
I've been agonizing over what to do, and after checking with a lawyer I've
decided just to walk away and let the bank deal with it. I love this little
house, but not $50K-$90K worth!
I'll be moving back into my rental house after the tenants leave. It'll be
my fifth move in four years. That will tie up last loose end from my
abbreviated life with Neal.
Sigh.
oh, what a year you've had...
ReplyDeleteOh liz-Im sorry. Sounds like a difficult but rational and financially sound decision. Sending you lots of love and courage for starting over again.
ReplyDeleteUgh! I'm not even going to ask why Neal didn't have a will. I remember you said he had a stubborn streak. This has to be such a difficult decision for you. And more disruption upon disruption. I hope life settles down for you soon and you can look forward to better things.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with you! *hugs*
