I'm out in phoenix visiting my Dad and step-mom Barb this week. We've been
doing a lot of catching up, a lot of eating, a bit of yard work. Today our
mission was to plant a couple trees. We get up and start digging, whattya
know we broke one of the main irrigation lines. This is typical "Turbett"
fashion, "If something doesn't break, your not doing it right" is one of our
family mottos.
This broken PVC pipe to some may represent yet another failed attempt to do
something that should have only taken 20mins and has now taken the entire
day, I chose to think that it allowed for me and my dad to spend more time
together, problem solving, attempting to right a wrong through trial and
error (it only took two attempts to patch this up). This used to be a weekly
occurrence, now I'm lucky to even see my dad more then twice a year.
I am thankful for this broken pipe, and today, for the "Turbett family
curse".
That is such an awesome way to look at it Jon. Squeeze every last drop out of this vacation!
